Transfer Summary Richarlison and Raphinha

Tottenham’s Transfer Summary

The second week of the transfer window has led to rumours hotting up for Tottenham, and with Conte looking to get his signings in before the end of July, Paratici is making moves this week in order to meet that deadline.

Earlier in the week, The Athletic announced Tottenham Hotspur had agreed to a deal for Steven Bergwijn’s transfer to AFC Ajax in a £21M move plus add-ons. A record fee for the Dutch side.

Bergwijn’s Tenure

Bergwijn enjoyed a short but sweet time in North London, hitting the ground running with a debut goal against Manchester City after signing for Spurs for £26.7M in January 2020.

Bergwijn came on as a substitute in a 3-2 win vs Leicester at the King Power Stadium, scoring in the 90+5th minute and then going on to win the game in the dying seconds.

Potential Replacement?

Tottenham have been in fresh talks for Leeds United winger Raphinha according to Fabrizio Romano. Tottenham, Arsenal, Chelsea and Barcelona are all said to have an interest in the Brazilian international and have been quoted a £65M fee.

Later on, Fabrizio had said Tottenham were preparing a proposal for Raphinha and that he is now more open to joining an English club.

Raphinha scored 11 goals and got 3 assists in the most recent Premier League season, scoring on the last day vs Brentford FC and saving his club from relegation.

Brazilian Trio

A replacement could come in fast, with The Athletic stating that Tottenham are hoping to bring in a new forward before Bergwijn’s departure. Other names that have been released by the media are Everton forward, Richarlison and Manchester City player, Gabriel Jesus.

However, Football London told us that Tottenham were not planning to hijack Arsenal’s move for Gabriel Jesus. This comes after news from Fabrizio Romano stating that Tottenham were watching the situation from afar.

One that has the potential to happen is Richarlison, with Raisa Simplicio from Goal Brazil stating that Tottenham are expected to make a proposal for the signing of the Everton forward in the coming days.

Everton are said to want more than £50M to part ways with the Brazilian, and although Tottenham are keen, they are yet to make a proposal that would match their asking price.

Paratici’s Trip to Italy

On Thursday night, Gianluca Di Marzio reported that Fabio Paratici was in Italy to discuss potential transfers on the Italian market.

Paratici discussed a possible loan move for Bryan Gil to Sampdoria and also a potential move from Jose Mourinho for Joe Rodon.

Sky Sport then also announced Tottenham’s interest in Nicolo Zaniolo from AS Roma, with Paratici a keen admirer of the attacking midfielder. Zaniolo has 8 goals and 9 assists from 42 games this season, however, missed just over 2 months this season due to injuries.
